Richard Donaldson is a qualified Personal Trainer and Pilates instructor with over 16 years’ experience in the fitness industry. This includes exercise prescription for both men and women of all ages ranging from beginners through to more advanced forms of training.

Richard Donaldson: Founder of RD Fitness and USP Pilates

Raised in Central Scotland and moved to Edinburgh in 1997 to further his career in fitness beginning with a National Diploma in Health, Fitness and Exercise and gaining experience working in various fitness venues.

In 2001 he became degree qualified as a sports scientist and established his own personal training and fitness studio in 2008 with RD Fitness. He gained valuable business acumen and experience and over the years, Richard has worked with a range of individuals and proudly claims that many remain customers to this day where he focuses on achieving new goals to aid their ever-demanding lifestyles. In 2016, USP Pilates was born and continues to go from strength to strength.

From his own personal experience and the many years of tuition, Richard understands the importance of a well-structured fitness regime which is the foundation to running successful Pilates Classes in Edinburgh and providing bespoke One to One Personal Training.

Unique, Specific & Personal

Most fitness providers offer a range of classes for you to choose from. The problem is you need to know which class suits your ability, condition and skill level. At USP Pilates we want to make sure we understand your needs and goals before offering advice. Only then, can we create a USP Programme that is most suitable for you.

For the individual recovering from an injury or suffering discomfort, we recommend one to one Personal Training Sessions, or alternatively the beginner classes. Our beginner Pilates Mat Classes in Edinburgh, with a bespoke repertoire, ensure close supervision. One to one sessions will enable individual attention, under the guidance of a dual qualified Pilates Instructor / Personal Trainer.

Intermediate and Advanced classes are available if you have previous experience with Pilates, or once you have progressed to a higher level of strength, stability and fitness. Alternatively, you may wish to proceed to advanced forms of training on a one-to-basis, or attend one of our Edinburgh Fitness Bootcamps, the choice is always yours.
